Need Help Please! (AMD Compatability Issues)

I want to build an AMD 1.2 ghz system 266fsb. I hear people have a lot of problems with both USB devices, and with Sound Blaster cards. I had planned to use the Sound Blaster Live Platinum 5.1 with the live drive ir. Can someone please help me feel at ease with using these parts. Mother board recommendations would be good too (I had the MSI Turbo in mind). Basically I want a problem free system, I want to be able to use the USB ports and I'd like to use the SB live platinum 5.1 if possible. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

search these forums, tons of info. I did read that putting the sb live in a certain slot (5 or 6?) had no probs with the epox 8k7a. It was in a thread on these forums. If u search, u'll find it easily.
