Need help picking some RAM.

Looking at either adding 2 512MB sticks of Corsair RAM to match the sticks I've already got, or swapping the sticks I've got with a matched set of Corsair 2x1GB sticks. The 512 sticks are 3-4-4-8, and the 1GB sticks are 2-3-3-6. What's the difference? The only differences between the two setups will be CAS Latency and price, and the 4x512MB configuration vs the 2x1GB configuration. Anyone help me out here?

For reference, Monarch's pages on the RAM I'm looking at:

2x512 MB RAM
2x1GB RAM

Edit: This is going to be put in an ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe, if that affects compatability at all.

I wouldn't go for that stuff, I would go for OCZ Platinum EL 2x1GB. Nicer memory 2 3 2 5 timing on the OCZ, and it will take higher voltage as well, plus you will save like $45-50 on it.

4x512 is a nightmare for the onboad memory controller on a64 procs so i would suggest anything 2x1gb. strangely intel doesn't have that problem. o and im a pony.

.15 posts per day and you came out of hiding to proclaim you were a pony? Crazy... just crazy.

Anyway, I will agree with the OCZ and 2x1GB recommendations. No need for more opinions.

for 2x1gb sticks ive heard a lot of good things about the crucial ballistix. just read up a little on on a few ocing forums and they seem to be the hot shizzle. i considered getting them but i already got another 2x512 of ocz el pl rev2 tccd coming my way. o yeah and "no sir....i don't like it."
