First off, specs:

Antec P180, so I need long cables
Q6600 Intel CPU
EVGA 680i SLI board
EVGA 8800GTS 320MB video
2x1024MB DDR2 800 RAM
2x SATAII HD
1x DVD-ROM/CD-RW (reads DVDS but won't write them)

I plan on overclocking it to high hell. Drive-wise, I'm getting a SATA DVD burner later on. I'm undecided on whether or not I would run extra hard drives. I may SLI someday as well.

So.. I'm currently running a 650W BFG, which I've heard is a brand to stay away from. I've also heard some anti-Antec stuff, but pro-Seasonic (I'm aware that Seasonic actually makes the Antec NeoHE series, though).

NewEgg's watt calculator claims I need ~530W, but I've seen another calculator that had a considerably lower score, ~430ish (I don't remember exactly).

I plan on returning the BFG, and I could exchange it for a 550W NeoHE, but again.. friends telling me to stay far away from Antec. I'm a little confused. Whatever I decide, I'd like to buy it today.

Please help :)

Between the BFG 650w and the NeoHE I'd take the NeoHE in a heartbeat no matter the possible baggage associated with the brand.

What is your budget? If your budget is quite moderate, may i suggest the Antec Quattro 850W?

I absoultely love this psu.

They take forever to ship tho. Around 1 week for you to recieve it.

Here's jonnyguru's personal review on that product. Its an absolute monster in stability.

Jonny's exact comments on the output:

" must admit that I am absolutely amazed with the lack of ripple and noise on this power supply. In most cases, the ripple and noise measured on the +12V rail is actually less than that on the +3.3V or +5V!

Pretty much, the +12V doesn't even beg for attention until test 7, and even then we're talking about ripple and noise that is less than 10mV p-p. 10mV! At it's absolute worse, we only measure 20mV p-p on the +12V rail during tests 9 and10. Simply amazing."
