need help picking new project

The Hive

Junior Member
Been doing CPDN now for about 3 1/2 years and I am going to drop out and pick up a new project. I am also going to drop out of Einstein. That will leave me with Rosetta only. I have done over 5 million in BOINC and stats are not that important to me. I want to get in a project that will help mankind the most. Which projects do you think fit the bill and why. Your responses are greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the AT forums 1st.🙂
Hmm ,that's a tricky & very generalised question, though going by your previous & 1 current project maybe Folding@home & Orbit@home would interest you?

What are your interests relative to DC?

[edit] Follow link in my sig about F@H, & I'll follow up tomorrow with info about Orbit@home if no-one has posted anything in the meantime, sorry I gotta shoot now!😉

If you want to continue doing BOINC projects, check out MalariaControl. I always thought it has the potential to help the most people in the shortest amount of time.

Or you could help the Folding@Home TeAm pass the Dutch Power Cows 😉

Yea I was originally Thehive as my boinc name but I lost my email that I regestered with here and tried to retrieve it but could not. So I reregestered as The Hive, yesterday, and there it is. I made a few posts way back then. I had a few kids and got off the computers for a while but they still crunched for the Team. I joinded CPDN early on, 08-29-04 and am pretty sure I joined here about then also. I think maybe back then team starfire was our main rival and it was exciting to see the stats. Now I just like to look at the stats for the computers that I build now and compare them against the puters that I built 4 or 5 years ago. It is really amazing to me the change.

Yea roger that, upto just under a year ago I had an Athlon XPM @2.5 GHz which did ~20,000 Kpts/day on DPAD, now I have a Q6600 @3GHz which does 100,000 Kpts/day 😀 (btw the difference in other projects is much bigger, DPAD seems to prefer Ath XP & Ath64 architecture over C2, comparing core per core at the same clock speed).

Oh & it only draws 45w more from the wall! 😎 (the C2D @3.2 GHz drew the same as the XPM!)
