OP, just go through the headlines and you can easily find a topic on either side.

Gay marriage is a nice, big topic right now.
Gays in the military/don't ask, don't tell.
Legalizing marijuana to tax it.

Stem cell research
Affirmative action
The DREAM Act

Well i have an hour to go until my outline is due and i have fucking nothing. I am so frustrated and pissed right now. I put a hole in the wall last night because i was so frustrated. I cannot decide a topic, i second guess myself. I don't know if it is because i just dont care enough about shit to persuade someone about something or because I am so anti confrontational (after 9 years in the military, explain how that works) that I can't even convince someone of something.... fuck fuck FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There has to be something you believe in that you will argue to the death.

Don't second guess yourself. Just pick a topic and run with it.

Talk about the military and what you learned in it. Support that particular bit or decide to not support it if you don't like it, but explain what you learned about it in the process. Examples: Boot Camp, drill, deployment, just a few I can think of off the top of my head.
