Looking to get a cell phone, don't want a contract, which of these is better? Cricket and MetroPCS not available in my area.

Company: Boost Mobile
Price: $50/mo unlimited all, drops to $35 after 18mos.
Phones: Motorola i1 or Samsung Prevail

Company: Virgin Mobile
Price: $25/mo, 300 voice unlimited all till 11/11 then data gets capped at 2.5GB
Phones: LG Optimus V

If you're going with Virgin, you need to sign up soon the 300 min plan is going up to 35$/month

Also, both use Sprint's network exclusively, no roaming.

Then hit up craigs list and get an Optimus now to get in at $25 and upgrade to the Triumph next month.

According to Best Buy, if i should get the LG Optimus today, i will be grandfathered in for the $25/mo plan and when the rates go up to $35/mo, my rates won't go up, they also say when the unlimited data plan goes down to 2.5gb, i will be grandfathered in for that too.

However, if i should change my phone at any point in time, my rates go up to $35/month and the unlimited data goes away also in October. I asked the same question at Target and Radio Shack and heard only stupidity.

I can get the LG Optimus for $130 from amazon with Tuesday delivery.

That phone will be $300 and wont be out for another month.

It's available next week. Best Buy is already taking orders.

And it's a great price for brand-new smartphone. $300 is unsubsidized so there is NO contract to worry about.

4.1" Screen

Virgin is either already at 35 dollars or will be soon. However they are still a better deal than anyone else right now, and have plenty of kick ass phones not to mention more on the horizon.

It really depends on where you are. In my house, Sprint is 5 bars - ATT barely 1 - Verizon somewhere in between. Signal strength relates to coverage.

thanks all for the help, not going with Virgin Mobile, web access it too slow and coverage in my area is awful.
