need help overclocking P3 733

I was given a P3-733 with an Abit VA6 mobo. I was wondering what were the best settings for overclocking this combo, if even recommended. thanks.

Don't think that you will get much out of it since it already runs on a 133 fsb. But just crank up the fsb, give it a little more voltage say 1.80 volts and see what it will do🙂

Sell the 733 ASAP, & get a 700 or a 750. You won't get very far trying to overclock a CPU that has a locked multiplier of 5.5. To get any kind of decent speed out of it you'll be seeing FSB numbers around 160+.

Well do not put out the 733 chip yet. On a good board it can do 904+ up to 1017. Right now I run at 185mhz Bus on an Asus CUSL2 with 1.85 volts. Thing is i can set my system at 133/100/33 and than push it to 185/133/45. It runs rock solid.

Yep, I agree with night181 totally, except u'd probably need decent ram if u can't get to his FSB and want to run ur system at 133:133:33.

Night181,

Can you tell me how did you manage to get upto 185mhz FSB?..

Your Asus mobo must be super with wings on it. Did you use special cooling setup to do that? because I would like to do that as well if not, at least higher than what im stuck at..🙁 Can u explain a little more how you get that such great FSB? thnx..

Night181,
Post your system specs and motherboard settings. I'm sure that lots of people around here would be interested. I have never heard of anyone running at a 183mhz FSB.

Better yet, how about posting a new topic stating that your system runs at 183mhz FSB. It would be an interesting discussion.
