Well I need some help, my system will freeze up within 2 min. of the system Bios. I have not installed any OS, due to I can't browes the Bio to make the changes. After the lock up and restart the vga card fan will increse in RPM and not display any video. I have to clear the CMO to make it work again, but it'll freeze everytime. I've called up Asus and tehy said it was a grounding issue, that I have to add eletric tape between the case and mobo and some washers between the screws holding the mobo down. Any opinions?

Buda,

Welcome to the Forums!

If you are locking up in the BIOS you really need to try a couple of things:

1. Reset the BIOS
2. Test the memory using Memtest.
3. Are you sure you didn't leave an unneccessary standoff under the MB?

If these don't work, you'll have to pull the MB out of the case and try powering it up on a piece of cardboard.

Let us know.

Thank you for the quick reply, I have tried already tried to power the MB outside of the case and have reset the BIOs many times. The RAM is new but I have tried testing them. The MB worked perfect before the Christmas holiday. Due to the computer parts coming in on the same day as my flight back home, I have had only time to build it and plug it in to test if the parts work. I had the system on and was playing with the BIOs for more than an hour. After the flight back, I tried to finish building the comp. by installing windows but the troubles started to happen.
