Hello

I will be building a computer after a long time, so am a bit out of the loop on the latest and greatest and would really appreciate your suggestions.

Usage:

The computer is going to be used mainly for browsing, Blu ray/DVD play back, rare instances of video editing. I dont see myself playing heavy games at all. I would like to have a SFF case, so a mATX motherboard is ideal. I would have gone smaller but I have 3 HDD/SDD so that automatically drives the size of the case up making a smaller motherboard moot.

Must have:
USB 3.0
Gigabit LAN
SATA 3, 6 would be nice to have
UEFI bios
A PATA port would be nice since 1 HDD has a PATA port, but apparently one can use a converter?

Not required/essential:
I dont plan to use a SSD for caching so the Z77 specific features are of little interest.
I wont overclock
No crossfire etc.

I plan to use the newer Ivybridge I3 chips when they come out or the I3 2120. I also plan to use a ATI 6570/6670 for video duties.

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Earleir I was planning on going with a Trinity build since it would have been ideal for me and cheaper as well, but I hear that the desktop versions are delayed. I expect a I3+6570 combo should beat the new Trinity on CPU front, but lag slightly on GPU side. Most of my applications will be single threaded.

Place of purchase : UK
Budget: mid range, best bang for the buck.

Slightly OT: What is the counterpart of the ATI6570 for nVidia? Also any comments on the build would be highly welcome.

Thanks in advance!

The Asus P8Z77-M Pro is a nice board but I agree on the H77 chipset for what you are looking for.
