Thanks to you folks, have worked out one major problem bringing up new system. This is my first building project and first time I've booted one from scratch. I went to FDISK to partition HDD, a Maxtor 20gig, 7200, ATA100, and created DOS partition. I inadvertantly used maximum size for this primary partition and made it active. Can I delete it, create it over and correct my mistake.
Thanks,
rayjay

If you have no data in the drive yet just start fdisk again

Choose YES to enable support for large drives
Choose "Delete partition or logical DOS drive"
Choose "Delete Primary DOS partition"
Type 1 to select your partion
Type in the Volume label (given in the table description)
And YES you are sure

exit the app. reboot. create your new partitions. exit. reboot. format.

If you already have data in there (using fdisk will delete all data in the partition) Get Parition Magic by PowerQuest and use that to resize/create new partitions.
