I'm doing research and using Maple (Mathematic Calculation Program) and I have to do big matrix inversion, multiplication, for example, 128x128 and I'm willing to run upto 400x400. Now it takes 10 hours for running 128x128 matrix on PIII 550 with 256 MB SDRAM.
I'm willing to buy a new computer, but I was wondering which cpu between P4-1.4GHZ and Athlon xp 1500+ I should go for. Any suggustion..Really need help...Thank you.
