My school requires that they put keyloggers onto your computers (Ones that you buy with your OWN money - (I worked for this, my parents didnt pay for it)

I think that its a violation of my privacy because what it does is it tells my school tech director what programs are being run, what is being typed, what is installed, etc.
(What if they see that WMW is open at around 2:00 AM ;))

Anyways, I was wondering if any of you guys could help me remove it
Both techies and people who have installed this software onto others

(The process name is keyclient32.exe)
I ended it, but I'm pretty sure that it doesnt go away that easily
Also, it'd be nice if it completely went away

Thanks

Reformat, Why do u need it on YOUR computer. tell them after a reformat that there was a virus I could not get off and I lost the cd of the keylogger. first of all how do they check if it is still on your computer.

or

reinstall windows with 2 partitions the one with the keylogger make it 10gb and then the other for your use only put a pass word on it and makes sure the tech at school dont see at boot up you got 2 selections. if they do say its a back up partition or a restore partition

Sounds like they want it to keep track if anyone is downloading/uploading files via a p2p site(s).

Are you sure that process file is keyclient32.exe? I can't find any file with that name. I found keyclient.exe but not the one you have. Do you know the name of the program?

I very much doubt that it is a key logger.

I think SilentRunning's idea that it is a software licence manager is much more likely.

Essentially, it monitors programs installed on your comp, to make sure that they are licenced correctly. E.g. if the school gives you an educational version of some software, or you need a particular program for a certain class, then the school can deactivate it automatically - if you no longer need it. It means they need to buy fewer licences, as they can be sure that only a certain number of people have the software active.
