Need help of Industrial Design majors or Car Enthusiasts

I have to research the PT Cruiser in my Intro ID class and need to find some diachronic influences (from the past within the same field) and synchronic cross influences (from other fields operating at the same time). I tried searching google, but am only coming up with car review articles. Are there any online academic ID journals that focus on car designs?
 
Industrial design woot! I'm thinking of majoring in design. I'm a liberal arts freshman, and was considering mechanical engineering, but that's too uncreative.
