I have a P3 450 Mhz along with a Abit BH6 motherboard , one 128mb pc100 ram, and one 64mb pc100 ram. I just have the fan that came with the P3. What type of fan should get and should i get a different motherboard? Plus how fast can i OC the chip? thanks.

Don't know much about your mobo, but I am running a P3-450 on an Asus p3v4x.
FSB is 124, for a CPU speed of 567mhz. I have the retail fan and sink on the CPU, but have two case fans (1 out in rear, 1 in in front) and a Card Cooler XT cooling things down.

Am absolutely stable, if still a bit warm. CPU runs 38 deg C at idle, about 134 deg C under stress.

Good luck

Globalwin VOS32 is a good performance/value cpu cooler if you dont mind slightly noisy fans. You can pick one up at www.millisec.com , it's only $29 and shipping is a flat $4 to anywhere in the 50 states. I had a PIII450 and I got it up to 581 at default voltage with a pretty weak heatsink/fan combo, PC100 memory and a BX6 rev2.0. 558mhz on a 124mhz fsb seems to be pretty common but you may be able to get 600 out of it. Be careful thought, the BH6 doesnt have a 1/4 pci divider until you get to the fsb speed of 133. So your results may not be as good due to your pci cards running over specs.

Yours with PIII450@600 ;-)
set cas latency to 3
change fsb to 133 and away you go ;-)
easy as that on my BH6 ;)

thanks for all the help guys. and phatawalla i really don't mind a noisy fan, doubt it'll beat out my Atlas-3 18gb hard drive. that thing boots up like an engine and runs at 10,000 RPMs. loud as hell. well thanks again for all you guys' help.
