Need Help! No sound!

I get no sound trying to play the following files: .avi, .mp3, and .wma in Windows Media Player 10. I don't have any problem playing the same .mp3 files in iTunes. Windows Media Player will say it can't play the file. .avi files will run with video but no sound. Also, my sound works great while playing games.

Everything was working perfectly until I uninstalled ATI's MMC 9.08, turned off my PC, removed my ATI TV Wonder Pro TV tuner card, booted into safe mode, and used Driver Cleaner PE 1.4 to remove all ATI software.

Somehow something got buggered up.

It doesn't make any sense why Windows Media Player wouldn't be able to play and .wma file.

So can anyone help me out? Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm and the end of my rope and getting ready to reformat! :disgust:
