I just performed the golden bridge jumper on my 700 Duron and after I reinstalled the CPU and fan my system will not boot. I get no POST or anything. Fans are running and pwr and hdd leds come on. My mobo is an Abit KT7-RAID. This is my first overclocking experience and I'm wondering if I did anything wrong. I was very careful of the bridge jumpers and have read several articles on how to do it.
Any info that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

hmmm... try clearing the CMOS with the jumper on the board.. what did you use to connect the bridges?

can you be more specific? did you connect the L1 bridges ONLY? also, like amd4me asked, what'd you use to connect em?

I used a #2 pencil, don't worry I checked it and the resistance comes out a about 6 ohms so it is making a good connection. I did try clearing the CMOS and it did not help. I tried erasing the marks I made and re-installed the processor...still no boot. Could I have possibly damaged the processor in some way?

take a look at the corners and edges of the naked chip itself. if there is thermal goupe or arctic silver there, clean it all away. i bet you smashed the chip when you were putting the heat sink on and it's busted.

Yep. Pulled the chip back out and inspected it. Found one of the corners chipped off. Cheap CPU cooler. Guess I'll have to break down and buy a new chip. Thanks for everybody's help. Live and learn.

I had a scare the other night, was installing a burner when i bumped my heatsink/fan and it moved with a click. Later when install was done, I turned my system on and it overheated in like 8 secs. I took off my heatsink and yep i had chipped my core. I was freaking, I cleaned it all off and reapplied AS and turned it on and whew it was working just fine. Got lucky :D
