need help. nf4 RAID problem.

Hi, I am using a DFI Lanparty SLI-DR, I had disable the extra (sillicon) raid controller which give me the four extra ports in BIOS already since I only need 2 SATA ports.
So, I am assuming that I do not need to use a floppy disk when setting up WinXP for Nvidia RAID, correct?
Anyway, I build a 138GB raid 0 array through NVIDIA RAID MENU, when I got into the WinXP partition screen, it shows that I only have one 75GB drive? (Raptor 74GB should have close to 68GB in real capacity).
Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.
 
I do not have the same motherboard as you, but it sounds like you have a raid 1 mirrored set. In several mother boards with raid that I have built recently the documentation and labeling of raid modes was incomplete. On my ga7n400pro it just gives you 2 selections, "volume optimise for stability", "volume optimise for performance". With no mention of raid level etc. I actually made the mistake to think it was a utility to format your drive at first! Either way good luck. I am looking at a similar setup to the one you have, let us know how it works!

You need RAID drivers for the nvidia RAID. You dont need SATA drivers if not used in RAID.

Once RAID is enabled in BIOS for the connector you have your HDD on, and you array is set, you have to press F6 at the beginning of Windows install and insert the RAID floppy when asked to do so. It will be few minutes later, not exactly when you'll press F6.

You'll be given the choice of 2 drivers. you have to load them both.. on at the time.

then you should see your array. If not, you may have to download the latest drivers from nvidia web site, and copy them to a floppy disk.
