Okay a good portion of you have read my previous post about my monitor and its problems:

Basically the only refresh setting I can use is 60hrz because ALL of the other settings give me flicker, the higher the worst...and its supposed to be the other way around....its a 5yr old Dell CRT trinitron.

Forum members have said that its just possibly old and its fading.....but what would cause that to happen? Right now and for the past year ive been using 60hrz because its the only "stable" setting...even though it causes massive eye strain......but it doesnt flicker...Anyway....

I just upgraded my mobo and cpu so now i have this:

NF7
Barton 2500+
9800 Pro
512 DDR Ram...BUT... its 2100

What do you think....what would benifit me more...a nice new monitor or some much faster ram....my games are fine right now performance wise, but im sure some new ram would definetely help...but maybe the monitor would be better?

Im looking for a monitor around $200 (non black if possible..but im not opposed to it) 19" CRT trinitron or damper wires (just because im so used to it) Any ideas?

Thanks :)

I can't even believe you asked this question. You might as well say, "Guys, two women are hot for me. One is Rosie O'Donnell, the other is Tyra Banks. Which one should I have a sleepover with?"

You've got a monitor that only does 60Hz and causes you eyestrain, and you're talking about RAM?!?!?

You need a new monitor.

I'm still in shock you even posted this.

Your monitor is the most important component you have, and you never want to be below 75Hz, bare minimum. 85Hz and up is what you really want, I wouldn't even use a monitor at less than 85Hz.

Hehe...Rollo, only reason its a debate for me is that is soo used to the 60hrz I hardly notice it anymore (5yrs old and i started noticing this prob a yr ago) and since 60hrz doesnt flicker on my monitor (something which I still dont understand, but I know its messed up) thats why I was debating :)

Guys..here are three models that Newegg has..opinions....

Viewsonic E90f PerfectFlat for $225 (includes shipping)

Viewsonic E90 for $200 (includes a $15 coupon and free SH)

Monitors...scroll to bottom

The e90 doesnt say anything about being perfect flat, but has a higher resolution then the e90f and is cheaper because of the doscount and free SH....

If the e90f is still far superior then the extra $25 wouldnt matter...what do you think?
