These tests are so damn easy. NO cheating, we don't want to be killed by a bad driver.

I cannot fathom how someone repeatedly fails the written portion of a driving test, unless it's in a language the test taker doesn't understand. Or maybe never having even looked at the driver's manual....it's there for a reason....maybe picking up a copy and having him give it a read is an idea. :)

I don't wanna sound like I'm making fun, but the tests (at least around here in Missouri) really aren't that tough. A lot of it is just common sense. I took my motorcycle written test the first time after I had studied the manual for about 15 minutes and passed without a problem, the regular auto test was even easier. I kind of agree with freebee, if he is having that much trouble with it, it's not going to do anybody any good to get him on the street. He probably would benefit more from a one-on-one drivers ed course. It won't help him or us if he gets his license but doesn't know what a yield sign looks like.

didn't he get to see some in driving school?

the place i went had old tests and we practiced on all of them, lo and behold the day of my test i had just taken it for practice in the morning... got 100% in like 5 minutes, lady asked me if i cheated... took it again cause they made me on renewal, on the spot and only missed 2...

jeez... most of the questions are really easy... they throw in about 3~4 that are "questionable" like with two answers that make sense... sorry for blabbering... i'd send you a scan just because but i don't have the test on me at work...

good luck to your bro = )

hmm, i know a physics phd that failed the written part 3 times. He was foriegn, but spoke and read english extremly well. He just thought to much on the questions, he didn't realize that they were so amazingly simple.
Question:
What do you do when you see the sign in box D on your sign card? (It was a stop sign)

A. Stop
B. Slow Down
C. Look and stop if you see cars crossing the intersection
D. Proceed with caution

He picked B. Slow down. His reason? You have to slow down before you stop, if you stopped instantaneously the impact would kill you. We had to explain to one of the smartest men I know that he had to go in and think like a 9 year old. After we did that it worked!

Unless English is his second language three failures is inexcusable. No wonder the US has 40k+ killed each year in car crashes. If he can't pass no one needs him on the road.

actually, if english isn't your first language, it's a free ride... you can bring a translator, basically pick someone who knows everything, and they can basically do your test for you... the 2nd time i took it it was in a room where people just tested standing at some tables... it was so laid back, no one was even watching, 3 guys asked me for answers in the line to turn it in!!!

seriously, cheating on a DMV test, if you can't pass those tests, which are incredibly easy, you shouldn't be allowed to drive
