Need Help, MSI K7N2G

A friend gave this box to me to fix today. A MSI K7N2G-L Mobo I'm thinking is the problem. He said that he was halfway through a Windows install when it just went "Black". Now when the box is powered up, all the drives and fans ect. run fine but the Board will not report. Nothing nada no Beep no Bios, nothing. I'm assuming the board is hosed but just wanted to know if anyone had any info on this thing or ha. Already cleared the Bios and no go still. Looking for any ideas anyone can offer.

I think the BIOS chip is gone and needs to be reflashed. Not uncommon with nForce2 boards.

Sounds logical. I 'm gonna try to flash it as soon as I can find a 3.5 floppy.

Tried a Bios Flash....."No Go". I'm thinking this board just needs to hit the scrap pile.

My Gigabyte did this same thing. yeah, the second bios didnt do shit. It does make a kind of 'death beep' melody then shuts itself down. Win some lose some.

Yeah, I just ordered a BIOSTAR M7NCD PRO for him to replace the MSI. Just not worth the effort I'm afraid.....eh

Your cpu heatsink isn't on tight wiggle it around and once it makes good contact with the cpu, your death noise will cease.. I have 8 mobo's by gygabyte and replaced all of the heatsinks at once... 3 of them were'nt on tight/level with the cpu.
