Need help making sure this CPU/mobo are compatible

Hello guys, I was recommended this CPU and MOBO, by one friend, but another friend isn't so sure they are compatible by looking at the specs.

Could you guys please confirm for me if they are indeed compatible with each other?

I mean, I see it says Phenom II, but my friend isn't so sure its all right and he builds PC's.

I have upgraded everything in my old PC except mobo, so this is my first new full build.

Find the CPU in the tables & check in the "Socket" column. If it's the same "Socket" as the motherboard you're fine :sneaky:

Hi Anthony817. Yes, that CPU is compatible with that motherboard. If you check the product details link, it says Socket AM3. The motherboard is also Socket AM3. AMD says AM3 Phenom IIs are backwards compatible with AM2+ but the socket AM2 Phenoms (920 & 940) are not forward compatible.
