Is there any reason why I should buy new power supplies instead of just replacing the fans in my exisiting ones?

Can anyone recommend some good 80mm case fans that are very quiet, as well as CPU heatsink fans? I think the CPU fans are what make most of the noise now so that's probably what I'll start on.

Turn them off.

Seriously I am looking at getting the Sonata from Antec - it has been reviewed well for silence.

It is easy to tell how loud your PS fans on, disconnect CPU fan, VGA fan and case fans, it is just for a moment so there is no worry about owerheating. Start with the VGA fan, that is usually the biggest noise offender, followed by the Cpu fan. Depending on what Cpu you have there are a lot of ways to go.

I have used the Artic Cooling Super Silent 4 TC on P4's that were not overclocked and these are virtually silent, a big improvement of the stock HS/Fan, they also make an Amd version.

The Panaflow L1A 80mm fans, are cheap ($7 +/-) and are very quiet

In most cases the stock ps fans will be ok

I just ordered 3 60mm-80mm adapters for the heatsinks, so every fan in all three cases will be standard 80mm case fans. I've got a box of panaflow 80mm fans I'll try, I'm sure they'll be quiet enough for me.
