G.Skill and especially Mushkin are about the top brands, from what I infer reading what everyone says. OCZ is apparently getting out of the consumer RAM business.

G.Skill is definitely a very popular pick. Especially the RipJaws line because it has good stats and a low price to boot.

OP: My lengthy post earlier wasn't meant to offend you in any way so I hope you didn't take it as such. I was simply trying to explain that for certain parts, more expensive isn't necessarily better for you. As a musician, if the SSDs are enough space for you to work off of, the 1tb Sammy or WDC Black would be a much better cheaper storage drive for you than the Velociraptor and you won't really notice a performance difference. Honestly, even if you were using it for more than just storage, you may not be able to tell because I can't tell the difference between my prev. gen velociraptor and my Sammy. If anything, the Sammy feels faster.

no ofcourse not my friend , just like i told u be4 , i really get good info from u , and about the ssd , i really need that speed , specially the new libraries need that higher speed to read the samples with no latency , so am gonna add my important libraries in to the vertex2 120gb ssd , and the rest in to the velociraptor , and u right , not all the expensive parts mean good quality , but when u r looking for good parts with good performance it will be always exp. , and about the ram , i was planning to buy the Gskills trident plus which gonna cost me around $440 , so if the difference in perfomance is not that much between these two then i will go with the Ripjaws , at least am gonna save around $100 .

Absolutely. You will not even notice the difference in ram. Literally if 2 machines are side by side with the different ram, you would not be able to pick it out.

the reason that am asking about the difference in performance cos the new libraries really need rams with better performance. last thing , how about the latency , the trident is 7 and the ripjawz is 9 , so is this cause a big difference in perf. ?

Timings differences are discernible almost exclusively through benchmarks, you'll never know for anything else.
