need help installing windows

finished building my computer and now im ready to install windows xp. i put in the disc when it says insert boot disc and then press enter but when i do it tells me boot disk read failed or something! whats going on? is it because i put the disc in a DVD-RW drive or something? please help
oh yeah i set my first boot to CDROM, second to Floppy, third to hard drive already.

Should work, maybe your drive has a problem with the CD, try burning a copy of it on another machine and using the copy.

i just tried burning my installation cd and then using the burned copy but i got the same results, any other suggestions please
