i recently bought a laptop and use killdisk to format the hard drive. i'm trying to install a fresh copy of windows xp professional but it says this

"make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and that any disk-related hardware confirguation is correct. this may involve running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or setup program"

what can i do? thanks in advance

press f6 at the beginning of the install and load the driver for the sata controller.

if you dont have a floppy you have to slipstream it into the install.

this is for a laptop by the way and it didn't come with any drivers cd. what does slipstream mean? thanks

edit: i don't have any usb floppy drive. anyway i can put the files onto a usb drive and use f6 with that?
