i have a big ole case, but it only came with a ATX 235PSU...so i drilled a big ole in the back of it for another one. (ok enough hick talk)...anyways, i got them both plugged in and connected to everything. i dedicated 1 to the MB and CPU, my voodoo5, and a hard drive. the other i have connected to a bunch of fans (6 80x80mm and 1 120x120mm). the one with the MB and stuff turns on because it is connected to the motherboard atx power socket. i cant get the other one to turn on without first connecting it to a motherboard. yes, its plugged in, and yes i hit the on switch =) is there anyway to get this to turn on without putting a non-used MB on the outside of the case for the sole purpose of turning on a diff PSU? BTW...the second PSU is AT, not ATX...can you hook those together at all?

Thanks

Good question. I've done similar with an AT type power supply, but not an ATX. Interested in seeing how this turns out.

i will try to make this simple.you will need a 12 volt relay switch from radio shack-i think they have a 10 amp one.

take a yellow and a black wire from p.s.1(cut off one of the molex connectors)connect them to + and - of relay.when you push the power button, the relay is now powered and closes.
from p.s.2 cut the green and a black(any black) from the atx connector and solder to the relay.when you push the power button on your computer p.s.1 powers the relay, which closes the circuit and turns on p.s.2.you may have to fiddle with where the wires go on the relay, they are marked but are hard to see.good luck!

i dont understand though...if you cut the green wire from ps1 and connect it to the 10amp thingy...then it doesnt go back to the PSU. i dont know if that makes any sense, but i thought that the green wire went back to the psu and told it to turn on....? when i looked in my mobo manual it says a listing of all the wires and what they do. for number 14 it says ps_on, so does that tell it to turn on or what? i messed around with it a bunch and ive come to the conclusion that 1) i have no idea what im doing, and 2) as far as i can see, that green wire has to go back to the psu. i know this is a lot of work but do you think you could maybe draw a diagram that looks pretty simple to where i can see all of the wires from each psu? i dunno maybe in Paint or something, but i am still really lost. that info you just told me got a good start, but like i said, im stupid so i think a visual aid would help.

also, my psu1 is new, so it has a green wire. my other psu is atx, but there is no green wire...so i should i just use the number 14 wire and then pick a random gound wire from both?

just incase you dont know what im talking about, in the k7t pro2-a manual, it has a listing that shows what all of the atx power connectors do when the hit the motherboad, and it shows number 14 as the psu on wire, so thats why i keep saying number 14. thanks for all of the help so far.

read my reply again you don't cut the green from p.s. 1,you cut the green(pin14)from p.s. 2

if you look at the picture you will see a yellow and a black wire to the relay.these wires come from ps 1 to power and close the circuit.on the other side of the relay you see a green and a black, those are from the atx connector from ps2.when you start your computer power is supplied to the relay.the relay closes and therefor starts ps2.
