Need help in remembering a game title

it was a 3rd person horror style game, I think it took place in the 1930's or 1940's and the main character was a detective hunting down demons or vampires.....one boss battle took place in a movie theater.

The Mr. Burke character in Fallout 3 triggered this memory...been looking all over for it...I think it came out sometime between 2000-2003?

Loved that game. Genuinely creepy moments. The zombie gangsters were a neat touch. I played it even though the part where you are running from werewolves and keep falling in these invisible pits and dying made me lose some hair.
