I am 2nd year IT student and i n my friends have planned to do some mini project on NETWORKING. so i want to know all abt networking from the starting. so plz give me some links for some e-boks and reference books. u can also suggest any topic. thnx in advance.........

Start by learning the OSI model.
 
The OSI model is the foundation for network communications. It is used constantly in the field. You'll need to know that before you can learn anything else IMHO.

I learned it in Net+ class first (application first). SO "All People Seem To Need Data Processing"
