I got the game a couple days ago, it's awesome. Omaha beach was just amazing.

Now, I'm stuck on the level called "The Command Post" in my Quicksave thing. I just got done getting all these papers from these buildings and now I have to meet up with some dude named Monah (I think?). Anyway, I got done blowing up some tanks (it was optional) and I'm on the road to meet that dude and I've got snipers shooting at me from one way and normal foot soliders with a dog coming at me from the other way.

The snipers are impossible to see unless you're standing directly in front of them.

I've tried about 15 times, running and shooting everything in sight but that damned dog eats me.

Any pointers?
 
Kill the dog?

I'm not even sure which mission your on. The description was too vague... quite a few missions are like that...
 
i think MichaelD ran through this game about 85 times trying to get past all this stuff, if he's on maybe he can share what he's learned.. Never played it myself- wish i could help. good luck 😀
 
Yeah smart asses, I've tried killing the dog 😀😉

Once I get the dog killed I either get shot in the head by a sniper or accidently run into a grenade that was just thrown.

I'll try and come up with more detail about the mission.

I uninstalled the game a few days ago 🙁 so I can't go check my saves to help you. Awesome game though, left me wanting more.
 
You get dropped off in the back of a Supply Truck. The dude tells you to get off quick before the soldiers search the truck. This is also the first level that you get the shotgun.
You have to run around and find your way to the Manor. There's A LOT of soldiers running around and they have these littles red/black/white buildings that have an alarm inside. If you don't shoot them before they get to that building the alarm goes off and then every soldier comes running at you.
Once you get to the manor you have to find about 4 or 5 documents. One of them is the battle plans, another is info about the Tiger tank. Oh, you also have to send a false message over the Nazi radio.
Once you find all those documents and do that stuff you have to run down this road and meet up with another supply truck with Monah (I think) waiting inside to take you away.

You were basically at a make-shift military compound. There were tents all over and a couple garages with tanks in them (about 3 tanks total throughout the level). Once you get passed the tents you came upon a manor where you had to get those documents.
I didn't think there were too many snipers around. Just seemed like normal soldiers carrying a rifle or something. They'd lay on the ground and try to shoot me but missed a lot.....so if they were snipers they sucked 😛
 
THe only way to get through this level is to charge at the snipers. You have to take out the MG42 first, then you charge at the Germans and this throws off their aim. You need to take them out quick and kill the dog also. Be careful because more Germans come from behind you from the house as you go so the Idea here is to move asquickly ass possible and get to the truck. Once you are there you can use your sniper rifle to take out all the Germans that keep persuing you.

I tried that the first 5 times and lost. Just tried it again and it worked 😀

Guess you just have to keep strafing one way to screw up their aiming.

Once I was in range I just sprayed shots everywhere so they'd act like their hurt. Once they all did that I just took them out one by one (I think there was 3.....it went really fast). When I was taking out the 3rd sniper that damned dog starting eating me so I tried to run away since my clip was empty.
Anyway, I shot the dog, finished the 3rd sniper off and saw the Germans coming up from behind. I ran like hell over the bridge and jumped in the truck. Took out the sniper rifle and picked a couple off.

Made it out of the level with 6 hit points 🙂

BTW, I think that was part of Mission 4 as I'm starting Mission 5 now.

Okay, WTF is up with the next level.

There's snipers EVERYWHERE and I have NO IDEA where they're coming from.

They blend in SOOOOOOO well with the surroundings is dang near impossible to see them.

I've died 4 times already and have only killed 7 people :|🙁

Ok, remember the Manor now, that was a be-yatch. As far as the next mission goes, you have to go very slowly, and use the scope to check everything...... and I mean everything. If you can, buldings try throwing gernades in there... there will be a soldier in there. Good luck.

Much easier said then done 🙁

I'm going to resort to running out and getting shot. While getting shot, take a good look at where the bullets are coming from, then die. Once I respawn I'll kill the SOB, save, and do the same thing all over again.

I got upto this level last night but I haven't tried it yet - looks like I'm in for a tough time!

Yes 🙂

Just remember, the sniper rifle is your best friend up until you meet other snipers.

Oh, and don't push the red boxes in the red/white/black little huts. Those red boxes make A LOT of noise. 😱
 
Yeah those snipers are everywhere. That one is a pain. The tough ones to see are the ones on the roofs behind trees. I think there are 2 of those guys that are real pains.
 
i just beat this part like 5 min ago. just run like mad at the snipers shoot then then kill the dog and keep runnin
 
OMG this game gets tough.

I'm stuck on the level where you get off a train with a group of troops and there's snipers EVERYWHERE. If you lose over 9 guys the game is over. Guess how many guys I've lost? :|:|

I snipe everyone but the snipers just keep coming back. Don't know WTF to do.

The sniper level is a bit of a pain. Trial and error is all you can do - some of the snipers are not at all where you would expect, including one or two that set up behind you on ground level. The AI in this game is annoying in that the opponents are able to sight in on you in a fraction of a second with deadeye accuracy. I think I ended up with the minimum number of tank crew members, all of whom were hobbling along and obviously badly hurt. Once you make it through you get to drive the King Tiger, which is pretty cool.

Oh goodness no! I suck bad! I haven't made it past Omaha beach yet...told you, I suck. LOL! 😀

I read that you got thru it though. Coolness. 😎

Everytime Iget to Omaha beach, I just start the game over...I like it that much...but I've already memorized where everyone is in all the levels up to Omaha...kinda getting boring, as I pick them off before they even see me. I made it to the "sink the sub"level without even getting killed once.

I get to Omaha and die instantly. 🙁 Dammit, where's my RTCW disc....

We're talking about different levels, unless you haven't read my latest reply.
I'm a couple levels after that now. You get to go with these "select" US troops and go blow up a Mustard Gas plant along with some other things.
You start the level sitting in a train car with 3 other guys. Right when the train car stops the door opens and a German is standing right there. One of your crew members shots the snot outta him and then you run out and get blown away by snipers.

The AI is very annoying though. They can shoot you before you even see them and they have amazing accuracy. Strafing left and right doesn't help much either.
Oh, your crew members are dumb too....no matter what level. They run right out in the open with snipers everywhere. Luckily they spot the sniper 95% of the time before I do.

Omaha is amazing. Just hide behind those steel contraption things. Oh, look for medics too! They'll give you about 50 health points each, I think there's 2 medics.
Use your fellow troops as decoys. When they start running up the beach, follow them. Just make sure to be by one of those metal things when they die.
I made it up the beach with 81 hit points left after about 25 tries. That was without a medic too 🙂
