Need help in Metroid Prime

I'm in the Phazon Mines on the third level and need to get to the "Elite Quarters" because there's "Unique Phazon detected."

I've looked high and low and cannot figure out how to get in there. There is a door leading to it but it's covered with some blue radiation crap. I have walked through the radiation and went in the door only to find 2 huge horizontal columns covering my pass. Upon scanning those columns it says that they can be opened from the other side. However, there is no way that I know of to get to the other side.

Any ideas on how to get past those bars? There has to be another way to get into the Elite Quarters room.

This drove me nuts as well. IIRC, if you look at your map, there is another entrance to the "Unique Phazon" room. You have to go back and get to the room that way.

Yeah check out your map. You'll have to enter the room through the mushroom fields. Blast the door to enter.

-edit- What!!?? walking through all the radiation and getting burned made you think you were going the right way?

Just went back and found a map room in "Omega Research" which allowed me to download the whole map for Phazon Mines.

There's a little door in "Metroid Quartantine A" that I missed.

Yeah. I tried the same last night, and then turned off the game after I realized that I had to go all the way around. Grrrrr...
