I snapped these pictures Saturday afternoon behind my house. I thought this was a fox, but my co-worker says it?s a coyote.

Can't look at the pics at work but there have been coyote sightings in the DC suburbs so it is possible. Foxes generally have a more brownish/reddish appearance and are smaller than coyotes. We see foxes in our backyard pretty regularly.

Another vote for dog. I've seen a lot of coyotes, and I don't think that is one. It is also definitely not a fox.

Where the hell do you people live to have things like that running around in the back of your house?

That's easy. It's what's left of a St Bernard after he accidently wandered into a session of congress....

Hard to tell it's size from the pics.
How big/small was it?

Foxes are much smaller than coyotes.

it was about 18" tall to top of the back, maybe 24" with head. I guess about 20-30 lbs.

There was a pack of them?

If not, what's hard to believe about it being a stray dog?
If so, you think it's a pack of foxes? :p

looks like a stray dog. From the looks of it, i'd stay the hell away from it... it's probably rabid.

Definitely not a fox or coyote.

It looks to be part-coyote at least. Might have had a domesticated or stray dog parent. I had a friend with a dog that was part wolf. They lived in a rural area and the vet was cool not to report it... apparently they are suppose to be put down.
