Need help identifying firmware please.

How do I check the firmware version of my lite-on burner in windows XP? I thought you used Device Manager but either I'm wrong or they've changed it in XP pro, if you can help me I'd appreciate it.

I assume it came with some software, for example nero? Nero can tell you

Easiest way is with a 3rd party tool. I recommend the Nero Infotool. It's very quick and dirty.

Google it and I'm sure you can find a download link. It also comes with the latest versions of Nero as well, so if that's what you use for writing CDs, it's there
