I picked up the corsair memory mentioned in the signature. Without opening the heat spreader, how do I check if I have a Promos or a Micron DRAM?

Overclocking will probably tell me, but is there any other way to find out?

Try with a program called Everest, or just by searching on the internet the code that your ram must have impressed on it.
