The LED lights that is telling you that your harddrive is working is not coming on. I've tried hooking it up numerous ways.. ALso, my reseet switch isn't working.. I've been working on it all night. I just found out another bad thing. The computer is not detecting my DVD-ROM drive. It detects my other cd rom but when I put a disk in it nothing loads. I swear, it's always one thing after another.

Welcome to AT.

Are your jumper settings correct on your DVD drive?

Did you line up pin 1 on your motherboard HDD display pins with the colored wire for the HDD light?

Does your manual have a diagram for where to plug in the HDD light and reset switch?

Im assuming this is your first PC build. You are gonna go through these problems. We all did. Second pc build is much smoother.

Just so you dont get discouraged or anything.

Thanks for the fast response. I am just a fourteen year old kid who has saved his money up for almost 2 years, just to build a computer. I just want everything to work. My motherboard did not come with a manual. This has been addressed on the HP website. I removed my dvd-rom and I just reformatted again, but unfortunately the cdrom does not want to read anything. I have no idea what in the world i'm going to do. This has just turn into one big mess.

Try turning the cables around or check the jumpers on the Optical Drive...If you have a PATA HD most likely the LED's won't come on.
