I've got an 8k7a and I need help getting my USB mouse to work. For now I'm using a PS/2 one with a PS/2 KB. I have brand new Microsoft USB mouse (Intellimouse Explorer) and KB (Natural Pro). I just want to get these both working, as my old KB has a sticky shift key and my old mouse has a screwed up scroll wheel. I had it working one time, but when I restarted it didnt work and hasn't worked since. Thanks.

Make sure your USB controller is enabled in the BIOS and the USB mouse is easy but the keyboard is a tad tricky i have my MS Nat Pro on mine works, but in the bios i had to set mine for the bios to control it not the OS.

Are you using Win98SE?... then read this,

<< Universal Serial Bus (USB) devices that are connected to a Windows 98 Second Edition-based computer may not work if the following hardware components are installed on the computer:

An AMD processor (running at 350 MHz or faster)

A VIA Technologies USB controller

This behavior occurs because there is a timing-specific problem in the Universal Host Controller driver (Uhcd.sys) that may prevent USB devices from be properly enumerated under specific timing conditions.

RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, download and run the appropriate file for your language version of Windows.
