Need help getting Windows XP to boot...

Running Windows XP SP2 and when I try booting, I get the blue screen of death saying referring to the scsiport.sys and so I find the problem documented on Microsoft's Support Website right here:

You may receive a Stop error in the Scsiport.sys file during SCSI miniport initialization on a computer that is running Windows

But of course if you read the resolution, it says you can only obtain a fix by contacting Microsoft. You gotta be kidding me!?!?

Is there a quicker way to resolove this problem? I need to get this machine up and running ASAP.

Only quicker way would be if you know someone who has that hotfix. It shouldn't be too diifficult to get it from Microsoft as it's a known issue though

When did this start happening? If this problem juststarted, did you change or install anything that may have caused it?

Can you bring up the boot menu and select "Use last known good configuration"?

Can you boot into safe mode and do a system restore to a save point prior to this problem occuring?

Are you using an add-on IDE controller, or onboard controller that supports RAID or SATA?

Sounds to me like it's an issue with hard drive controller. Add-on IDE cards are treated as SCSI devices.
