Need help getting satellite connection going

Ok, I got it all setup but I can't figure out how to use it. If I go into network connection theres a connection named 1394 it says under speed 400.0 mbs so I think it's connected I just can't get it to work. What do I have to do?

Did you get some kind of install CD that shows the available signal strength? Not sure, but I think the 1394 connection just indicates that you are connected to satellite router/modem. Your connection to the satellites may not even exist.

Yeah the guy made sure it was all connected and working fine (he checked it on his pc) and theres a light that comes on when the connection is working so I know it's connected. When I used msn I had to make a connection and set it all up is that what I have to do with this?


Under device manager/network adapters it has 1394 net adapter and it's working fine of course I have no clue what this is. I have it plugged into my mb it has a built in nic A7N8X-X is my mb.

When I checked the other day my nic was installed for some reason it got uninstalled so all I had to do was reinstall it everything is working fine now.
