Need help getting RAM to the correct speed

I just bought 2gb OCZ PC5300 667mhz RAM from newegg and got it installed today.

When I ran CPU-Z, the memory only states its running at 333mhz. Is there a tool I can run to optimize my ram to run at 667mhz? I know my motherboard supports the speed.


I really just want to take full advantage of this awesome ram!

We need to know more about your PC. AMD? Intel? Motherboard chipset? Then we can explain why it may appear at a certain speed and what you need to change or overclock (FSB likely) to get your memory running at that speed. Unless of course your FSB is running at 333Mhz already in which case your memory is already at 667 and there's nothing to worry about.

yes your ram speed is equal to the fsb and dram ratio. if this is 1:2, then your fine.

Your RAM is running just fine.

DDR stands for double data rate.

IOW, 333 MHz x 2

Or in your case, 325 MHx x 2.
