Quick overview of my network. Webramp 700s linked to a couple hubs/switches with a Linksys BEFW11S4 v2 serving two wireless clients and about 10 wired clients mixed in. Trying to hook up a DWL-800AP+ (using latest firmware) in access point mode to attach a media pc and PS2 on a hub in the basement. For the purpose of this experiment it's sitting <10' from the access point to rule out signal quality issues and it hooked directly to a single PC. I have a laptop sitting right next to me using a DWL-650 that's working like a champ.
Here's the deal, I've double and triple checked all my settings and can't find out why the 800AP isn't bridging to the rest of the network. Direct attached PC can bring up the web interface fine. It's IP address is unique, static and on the same subnet as the rest of my network. Verified ssid, default gateway, channel, wep is disabled (small steps, will renable later), set xfer to 1-2-5.5-11 (connecting 22 -> 11) are all correct, tried open and auto authentication. I did set both to open authentication and I have since been able to receive a whopping 5 packets on the Dlink (while dropping 2). Enabled broadcasting the SSID on the Linksys (something I don't normally do). WLAN light blinks on Dlink as expected when trying to connect to anything past it. Not running any type of MAC level authentication.
Actually tried calling Dlink tech support (don't waste your time) and they treated me like a 4 year old then hung up on me. I'm dying over here. Completely out of ideas. Any thoughts? Any successfully get this thing to work in AP mode?
