Need Help Getting a Copy of a Criminal Record or DMV Record

Maybe someone here might know how to help me... I am trying to find out how to find out what is on a particular person's criminal record or dmv record. We are considering a wrongful death suit and we were told by a highway patrol (off record) that the guy failed the field sobriety test, was going over 100 mph when he rear-ended my cousins car, and has done this before and paralyzed the last person he hit. we need to know if this is true, or if he was actually charged with a crime.... the only information we have is the guys full name and current address... no date of birth of social # yet....

You don't need a lawyer to get that information, but I would definitely suggest going to one.

If you want the information, I would say that going to the Clerk of Courts for the county he would have been charged in may be a good start.
 
That is on file in the courthouse.

If you are lazy there might be something online..there is for north carolina
 
There are lots of firms that do background checks for you and kind find out that info. Business use them for hiring.
 
Thanks for the tips guys.... I'll call down to the courthouse and see if I can get anywhere... most online background check websites were requiring a birthdate and we haven't been able to find that yet.... we know the guys age, just not his actual birthdate.....
