Need help from you grammar Nazis

I'm wondering which of the following sentences is appropriate in using the word "whether":

A. Can you tell me whether or not I am using correct grammar?
B. Can you tell me whether I am using correct grammar?

So, which one is it? I'm trying to figure it out myself. 😕

It needs two parts to be a complete sentence. "can you tell me whether this or that." "Can you tell me whether this." is a sentence fragment.

I would just use "if"

B. Can you tell me whether I am using correct grammar or incorrect grammar? --> corrected

actually, i think the example is correct because there is a negative 'i forgot' in the sentence to complete the 'two parts' requirement.

so ?I wonder whether I forgot to turn off the stove??
is really the same as ?I wonder whether or not I turned off the stove?? (aka part A)

is perfectly fine. 'Whether' already includes the if...or connotation

According to Robert Parker, both are correct, in B the "or not" is implied. Trust Spenser, he's smarter than he looks.
