I have the MSI nForce4 Neo4 Platnium motherboard. My bios is defaulting the Crucial Ballistix (DDR400 PC3200) timings to (CAS 2.5) 2-4-8 2T (2.5V) instead of 2-2-2-6 1T (2.8V). I set the voltage to 2.8V, then manually set some of the latency settings and then asked it to automatically pic up the settings - when I selected auto - it dodn't change any of the settings I put, but there are a lot of terms I am unfamiliar with and I am not sure what exactly I should be putting down for each.

If you have this mobo and ram combo, can you go into their bios and see what the correct settings are - and post them up.

Thank you.

The auto option is not always the best one. Generally it won't pick the fastest timings for your ram. I'd just put the timings and voltage in manually like you've done. I run mine at 2-2-2-8 at stock volts (2.65V?). I've also tested it to 259MHz at 3-3-3-10 and 2.70V or 280MHz at 3-3-3-10 and 2.85V.

The Neo4 board loves Ballistix from what I've seen. On my Neo2 I could only hit ~235MHz so the Neo4 is a vast improvement.

Mine is running 2-2-2-8 2T with the auto setting, I tried to set the ram up to factory specs and I had to reset the cmos. :(

So, it's running at 2-2-2-8 2T at 2.7V.

I'm not running crucial but with the kingston hyper-x low latency which is supposed to run at 2.7v I had to up it to 2.8 on the neo4 so you might also try upping your voltage with the more aggressive timings.
