My modem has beens shutting down and then its reestablish a lilnk again. I try calling Adelphia, but I'm usually on hold for hours. So I'm calling on AT members for help. I'm wondering what available Cablem modems are out there that is available to purchase that is also compatible with Adelphia's powerlink internet service. Currently I'm using a very old RCA cable modem. I want something for stable.

Thanks everybody!!!!

I've got Adelphia and they gave me a Scientific Atlanta modem.

I think you got shafted with your RCA because I talked with an Adelphia technician about a friend of mine who had your same problem and he said that the RCA ones were really just crap, and made me promise not to tell anyone that. Oops.

He said the Scientific Atlanta ones were the good ones, though.
Hope this helps.

I was a Comcast subscriber and then had to migrate to Adelphia. They never changed out the modem. Thanks for the reply. Much appreaciated.

I am also a Adelphia Cable subscriber, and I too have the Scientific Atlanta. Free with service... But before this I had a US Robotics modem that never failed me.
On another note, I read in the paper that my local Adelphia branch may be going bankrupt or selling out. God save the Queen! I went through this once with Excite@Home... So if you are near me, maybe you wont need a modem...hehe

I have adelphia and have had this modem also, it works well ! I like my tochiba I like it better though (newegg special) It added 1000 Kbps on to my downstream! One thing I must ask you is you say your losing connection right? Have you tried tracing your route and seeing if you have something bad on your gateway! Also have you applied any tweaks or anything else that might be causing this? I once installed zonealarm and that hosed my internet connection!
