I tried to format another computers hard drive today & had some problems.
I was told by a friend I'd need to go into the BIOS & set it to boot form the cd-rom & then follow the directions for formatting & set-up. One of the options I was given in the BIOS settings was to boot from cd-rom, c:, & a: so I chose that combination & saved/exitted. I booted w/ a Win 98 cd. When the cd-rom was being read it said, "Failure" & continued to boot from c: drive as normal.
Then I created a start-up disk & tried booting from it in a: Then I was told I didn't have enough memory & was missing some files.
I need to re-format c: & install Win98.
Can anyone please tell me what is going on & perhaps give some instructions on how to format this thing?
TIA
