Hi

I have a P5B Deluxe and an E6300 with the latest BIOS installed. I've tried to set the CPU frequency to 380 with the ratio at 7, it is working fine but any numbers higher my system will not boot, please help if anyone could let me know what other settings I should change in order to reach the 3Ghz.

Many Thanks,
Tony

Thanks for your quick reply. But before I do, I wonder wouldn't those red figures would damage the device when setting them too high?

You could try upping those voltages to the next higher level, one at a time. That way you should be able to identify what's failing first on your overclock.

Welcome to AT :)

The guide linked to is indeed excellent, albeit more for expert OCers.

Please post your system specs (especially RAM) & bios version, as it's very hard to get an idea of what could possible be hindering an OC when we have no clue what you are running.

Also, as i have told many, skip the 300s w/ the P5B-D.

Seriously, set vcore to 1.4V (will result in about 1.36V in actuality) & CPU to 7x401, & watch her fly :D
(This is assuming you have decent RAM).

Reason for my recommendation to skip the 300s, especially the later 300s.

Hi,

I am running with the latest BIOS 614. I am still having problems overclocking beyond FSB 380 @2.67Ghz, the system simply doesn't boot up and I have to takeout the battery in order to reset the machine. So at the moment I leave everything to AUTO. Perhaps if you guys can let me know what settings I could change in order to boost to 3hgz :), that will be much appreciated.

Thanks
