i am looking to overclock p4 1.6a ghz
which mobotherd i should choose?
soltek 85 drc or soltek drs2 or asus p4s333fx?
 
I agree with Athlon4all. I have heard alot of things about the TH7II one of them concerning the clock generators. I have a board with the ICS-03 generators which from what I gather is not supposed to overclock to 133 fsb not to mention above it. My 1.6a is running at 140 fsb (2247.42 MHz) and currently stable. I have two sticks of double sided 256 mb samsung ram (currently 256mb rdram and below is cheaper than ddr, and offers the bandwidth that the hungry P4 demands.) I have a wcpuid, but I am not sure how to post it here. I also have run sisoft sandra 2002 and am unsure as how to save the info. Go with the th7ii and rdam or maybe the p4t-e if you can find one with the ics clock gens.

Yea, I didn't realize I hadn't even mentioned 133fsb I usually do.

Pretty much, as long as you have RDRAM that can run at PC1066 (Most new Samsung/Corsair can), Abit TH7II will nearly every time hit 133fsb+PC1066 (usually more like 140fsb, but RDRAM could limit your progress at that speed). And a 133fsb+PC1066 running at 2.1GHz, will beat the Asus P4B266 setups you see running at say 155fsb+PC2100 DDR running at 2.5GHz. So do yourself a favor and go TH7II
