OK, so my friend want to build a new computer, but I really don't know as to what to build it with. So I come to you guys. He wants an Antec P180 and an athlon x2, but he doesn't need to replace his monitor. What's the best he can get out of that price target? Hardware only.
 
Get the 165 opteron rather than x2...both about the same price but 165 has 1mb L2 cache per core

$2500 is a lot of money... follow the advice of the lifer above 😉
