ok, i downloaded MSI's newest beta BIOS for the Pro2A, and it told me to make a bootable floppy by going into DOS prompt and typing a:/s. i did this and nothing happened :( it also said that when it boots, to type

A:\awfl788 BIOS file /pg /sn /cc /r /ld

are there supposed to be spaces? this is the first time i've had to flash a BIOS like this  could someone who has done this retype it with _'s or something like that to show the spaces? i don't feel like doing a bad flash and having to bring back the motherboard to get fixed :p thanks :)

I flashed my BIOS for the first time yesterday (also Pro2-a board). All I did was download the new bios to my hard drive, extract it to a bootable floppy (you already got this if you did the 'Format A:/s' thing), insert the disk into the floppy drive, and reboot the system. Presto...

I didn't have to type anything in, it did everything for me...even rebooted for me! The only thing I did was remove the floppy after about the third time it rebooted itself (I remember it said something like "Don't reboot and don't shutdown" or something like that and I figured it'd tell me when to take the floppy out, but it doesn't.)

...I was very uncertain also because I had never done it before but it's a snap. Took about 2 minutes.

i tried to a:/s again, and it still won't boot from the floppy. what am i missing?:confused:

edit: nevermind, i forgot the FORMAT part :p
now to try to flash the BIOS. here's hoping it doesn't crash halfway through ;)

edit2: ok, i just flashed the BIOS, and now i can do 1.85V, but it won't let me set the memory speed and CAS latency :( oh well, lets see what my Duron can do now :)

toph, what's the bios version?
You should be able to set it manual, choose 133 and 2 above v1.8 or v1.9

Ah, it's overclocker's bios version?
I never tried it.
If there is no manual option, it'll be set to optimal setting automatically. Well, that's what I heard.
