Need help fixing a door

i was all set to move into my new apt which was being renovated last week.
however, the guys who installed the tiling near the entrance didnt realize the door gets jammed about half way thru and doesnt swing all the way thru.

any tips on what i can do? the door is metal, so is sanding it or altering it even an option?
thx.

1. Contractor messed up tile work
2. Door only swings half way
3. Help

Could you place a small shim under the door hinge for the clearance you need Quest?

the door totally gets caught about halfway thru, possibly cause the floor is slanted? if you push the door any further, it scrapes the tile and just stops.
the owner is getting in touch with the contractor...just want to know if there's anything i can do.

I wouldn't do anything if the contractor is coming back to fix the problem IMO, it might save you a headache or two down the road Quest 🙂

yeah, i hope everything works out. owner is being a little lax about it though...making it seem like not a big deal.

just wanted some opinions in case i have to take matters into my own hands.

It is not the tile guy's problem if your door hits the floor mid swing. Anyways....you will have to pull the door off and grind the bottom of the door. Open it up until it jams and mark the door where it jams. Guesstimate how much you have to remove (shouldn't be too much). Re-hand door when complete and check your results. This can potentially be a lengthy process. I have had to do it before.
