That is low . . . which version of 3DMark are you running? (You should get around 5200-5700 something depending on how much you oc you vid card)

Also, 60C idle? Your GPU is overheating my friend . . .

yea, 60 is definately overheating for an idling GPU. My x800xl runs 44.5 overclocked 25core/28mem (not a substantial OC, but if your 6800gt is getting 60 without OCing or even under load... you got some colling issues there buddy)

make sure your casefans are up to 100% rpm and make sure you're gpu HSF speed is at 100% as well

BTW, i'm getting 5300+ on my little OCed x800xl, you should be getting at least 5000 with your's stock

k well i got rivatuner and i set the fan at 100% for all 2D and 3D situations. ......it helped 1 degree. the airflow in my case is fine. ive got 3 side fans but only 2 working. there blowing at the bottom right at the vid card. ive got a blowhole fan removing the hot air from inside. i dont get it why am i idling at 55???

it doesn;t matter how many fans you have or how many are blowing in. it all depends on AIRFLOW, hence the name. You have to make sure there is no negative or positive air pressure in your case. Generally, you want two intake fans and one outtake fan. the PSU will take the rest of the hot air. If you have a blowhole, great, but it will create a negative pressure if you only have two intake. Side fans? I don't like them. Disturbs the natural flow of air from bottom front to top back. instead, get a slot fan and put it right on top of where the GPU HSF exhausts

k so i just took off the hs and cleaned and applied some as5 to it. (it was dusty as hell) my temps now are 52 idle :disgust: any other ideas?

i just overclocked the card to 405/1101 and ran 3dmark i got a 5548. is that a proper score for that OC? my cpu score was 5018. my cpu is a 3200 winnie clocked at 2.5. its max temp hasnt gone over 45.
